A Phantom Fixers Story

With love and ghosts, the challenge is figuring out what’s real.

Software engineer Cruz Guthrie needs money for his sister’s cancer treatments. He needs it so badly he’s willing to stand in for a ghost hunter friend and investigate a millionaire’s supposed specters. It should be an easy gig—after all, nobody thinks the haunting is real.

Neurological researcher Brody Weber is furious that Cruz would take advantage of Brody’s father. But his mind changes when spirits manifest—and he realizes Cruz genuinely wants to help. When they learn the paranormal activity centers on Brody, Cruz is willing to fight to free Brody from the entities determined to make his life miserable. With a little help from friends and family—both living and dead—they must figure out why Brody is attracting spirits and how to banish them. Only then can they pursue a future together.

Cruz Guthrie is a software engineer. He’s the eldest of his family, and when his baby sister is diagnosed with cancer, Cruz takes another job to help his parents with the medical bills. One day, his best friend and roommate, Etienne asks him to replace him with a client, Loren Weber, a rich man who believes his house is haunted by ghosts. Cruz needs the money for his sister and accepted.

Brody Weber is a neurological researcher and believes that Cruz is there to take advantage of his father. But when, supernatural phenomenons appear in front of them, and Cruz insists on helping them, Brody starts to believe that Cruz is honest and can really help them.

Cruz and Brody will have to work together to eliminate the spirits and have a chance at a future together.

I LOVED THIS BOOK

It was a real great reading.
I loved Cruz and Brody, they are just adorable, sweet, fun and smart. Except for their first disastrous encounter, when they decided to work together, they were a team, a real solid team and I loved this. I loved how they trusted each other, how they’re honest and of course all the seduction parts.

I love Supernatural books (and I’m a fan of Supernatural the TV Show), here the plot is simple, but well written and built. Cruz helps Etienne, who is his best friend and the real ghost hunter. He doesn’t see ghosts like Etienne but believes that they exist. He lives with Etienne, and his sister Simone (who is a ghost) and he is cool with it, like totally super cool. That’s something that I will never be in this situation, I’d be in foetal position crying or trying to burn my house in order to kill the ghost (I never said I was logical or sane)
At first, Brody is skeptical with all of this, but evidence can’t be denied, and when he’s on board, he is totally in, and really works with them.

I also love the rhythm of the story, there’s no lingering, it was a fresh dynamic and fluid writing. The events take place naturally, and I was hooked by the story at the first page.

I was so absorbed in the book, that I was surprised when I’d finished it, I was like “What, I already finish it…how? When? I just start it 24h ago ???”. The good part, it’s only book 1 of the series…I can’t wait for book 2, I hope it’s Etienne’s story, but I also want to read more about Brody and Cruz (I really love them).

I Highly recommend it.

5 OptimuMM for my lovely ghost’s hunters.
