BLURB:

This vampire is finally ready to face his past, but only with the help of the sexy werewolf at his side.

This book ties into The Vampire’s Christmas Surprise

Adam was turned against his will in 1920 and was forced to leave behind his wife and young son for fear of killing them in his need to feed. Nearly a century later, he wants to know what became of his family and if he has any descendants left in the world. Puck, the alpha werewolf letting him live in his territory, knows a great investigator, but Adam has been warned- Lucius doesn’t play by anyone’s rules but his own, and he’ll ask for a price that has nothing to do with money.

Lucius is interested in helping Adam. He’s always up for solving a good mystery, but when things turn romantic, Lucius quickly realizes Adam isn’t interested in casual sex. Too bad that’s been a pillar of Lucius’s existence for years. Pleasure has never been complicated for him, but this vampire seems interested in getting him to change his ways.

Adam was turned against his will in 1920, and he left behind a wife and young son for fear that he would kill them in his need to feed. Nearly a century later. Father’s day’s approaching again, and that’s never a good time for Adam. It gets Adam thinking about his son and brings up all of his feelings of loss and heartache. This year though, it makes him want to know what became of his family and if he has any descendants left in the world. Puck, the leader of the wolf shifter pack Adam has been staying with for the last year, knows a great investigator, but he warns Adam that Lucius doesn’t play by anyone’s rules but his own, and he’ll ask for a price that has nothing to do with money. I would love to have a longer book that explored the week that they are going to spend together after this short story.

Lucius is interested in helping Adam find out what happened to Adam’s family and whether he has any descendants left. However, when things turn romantic, Lucius is quick to realize that Adam isn’t interested in casual sex, which is too bad since that’s been a pillar of Lucius’s existence for years. Now Lucius will have to decide if Adam’s special enough to change his casual ways for.

The Vampire’s Father’s Day Present’s a cute short story by Caitlin Ricci and A.J. Marcus. This book ties into The Vampire’s Christmas Surprise, but you don’t have to have read that book to understand what’s going on in this story. The Vampire’s Father’s Day Present’s well written and nicely edited. This is a very short holiday story, only 20 pages, but it entertained me for the 20 minutes that it took me to read it. I did like Lucius’ view on pleasure and that it should be freely given and there’s no reason to limit or deny yourself so long as what you’re doing makes you happy. Which’s the perfect contrast to Adam who came from a time when people were more modest and well, prudish.

I would love to read a longer story about Adam and Lucius, maybe exploring the week that they plan to spend together. Overall, an enjoyable read I just wish it were longer.

**** The ARC was provided by eXtasy Books. My review is an honest opinion of the book ****
