After being rescued by Ollie, Kade continues to suffer the aftermath of his ordeal, both physically and psychologically. Not knowing how else to clear his head, he pours his energy into Ollie—the love of his life—and Haven Investigations, but neither Ollie nor Kade can continue to ignore what they learned from their last case: Ollie’s brother, Nathan, might have betrayed Kade.

As they dig into Ollie’s past, secrets are revealed. Was Nathan’s death a suicide? Were Ollie’s parents much more than they seemed? Is someone out to kill Ollie, or is it Kade’s past coming back to haunt them again?

Amidst questions and uncertainties, one thing is clear: after everything they have been through together, Kade and Ollie have never been more in love and they want to get married. But first, they’ll have to deal with the continued threat of Kade’s past, the emotional wounds Kade fears are drowning him, and the possibility that everything Ollie believed about his family was a lie. A beautiful happily ever after awaits them—as long as they can survive long enough to make it to the altar.

I enjoyed this book a lot but felt lost on the backstory. I would strongly suggest reading the first three books in the series. I really enjoyed this author’s writing and the way she told the story. She captures the characters in such a way that you can’t help but fall in love with them or hate them. She really brought me into the story even with me not reading the first three. Which, by the way, I’m going to read.

Ollie was my favorite character. He’s a designer and model that looks better than most women and me. He really embraces his feminine side and is just such a beautiful soul. He gets overwhelmed easily and needs to slow down and take care of himself a bit, but with guidance, does pretty good. And he loves Kade with all his heart and can’t wait to be his husband.

Kade is a recent amputee that struggles with so much that has happened to him in his life. He owns Haven Investigations and has a wonderful crew to help him out. But his heart and soul belongs to Ollie. He loves this man so much and can’t wait to wed him. He’s a bit overprotective but means well.

These two have not had it easy by any means. Kade’s father is still causing havoc in their lives, and Kade does not feel safe going anywhere with Ollie without security. I absolutely loved the date to the Rabbit hole, as I call it. It was so much fun and unique. But when will the madness stop? Can these two just have their wedding with friends? Will they ever be able to just live their lives without looking over their shoulders? Will Kade ever get passed his past and learn to live without so much fear? All these can be answered for you when you read the book.
